Snow Removal

When it snows, the City launches Phase I of a Snow Removal Plan in order to clear snow and ice from the highways, snow emergency routes, and priority streets used in public transportation. Once Phase I is complete, Phase II will commence in which the City will spread salt and calcium chloride, and plow secondary streets. Snow accumulation exceeding 4 inches will constitute a Snow Emergency. Snow Emergencies will be announced on the City’s homepage, and through local radio stations, and newspapers. When a Snow Emergency is declared, Snow Emergency Streets enforcement will begin in which parked vehicles must be removed from the street. (Please see the Snow Emergency Streets Map below for impacted streets.
