STATE ROUTE 13/MT VERNON ROAD BRIDGE RIBBON CUTTING
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2017 AT 3:00 PM
Mayor Hall Announces State Route 13/Mount Vernon Road Bridge Ribbon Cutting: Friday, November 17, 2017 at 3:00 PM.
Newark Mayor Jeff Hall announced today that there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to reopen the State Route 13/Mount Vernon Road Bridge over State Route 16. The ceremony will take place on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 3:00 pm.
The plan of the bridge, designed by Jobes Henderson & Associates and DLZ, commenced in 2011. Over an 8 month period, the construction of the $3 million dollar project used over 300,000 pounds of steel, 2 miles of piling and over 2,000 cubic yards of concrete. This bridge is the first 4-span, post-tensioned, concrete slab bridge in Ohio.
"I am pleased to announce the reopening of the Mount Vernon Road Bridge over State Route 16. This is a wonderful addition to our primary gateway into Historic Downtown Newark," said Mayor Hall.
